DWM Management Talent - Nikki Yee steps behind the Camera with her film The Congress of Vienna

The Congress of Vienna is a ridiculous new short film by a group of young, independent film makers under 21. The film stars Nikki Yee, who is also the writer and producer. The premise is simple: high school jerks. A story about the different cliques and their leaders as they come together to solve the problem of the outrageous new kid. Yee came up with the concept based on the original Congress of Vienna that took place in 1815. "They were all egotistical and power hungry...exactly like high school! We've all been there," she says of the story line. "But I think this short is more than just a high school comedy; I think it is a representation of the potential of young people. Sure, all the characters are morally gray; but the crew and myself are all ambitious and passionate and we are all under 21." Hoping to connect both a younger and older audience, combines the drama of Gossip Girl with the tone of 30 Rock. Kids need something more fufilling than dating drama, but we also love to laugh, so it was necessary that we create something out-of-this-world hilarious".
